Post by Burl Swift »

Just got done building the V4, had a friend paint up my body, which I picked up today. I’m ready for tomorrow nights maiden voyage during club racing.

Maiden voyage with the S1V4 last night for club racing. Qualified 3rd for A-main, finished 4th.

Ill take it for the first time out, actually turned more laps in the first qual than I ever did with the B6.4.

Car was built to “stable” recommendation throughout the manual, but I was able to drive it fairly aggressively. This car is PLANTED!

I built mine with the stable setup as well. I ran amazing my first night too. You are right how this buggy is planted. It is such a fun rc to drive.

Love the paint from your buddy as well, looks nicer than mine!

Just wanted to provide a little update.

So far I haven't missed an A-main...and that's saying something! I was always a cusp driver, BQ or bottom of the A...not anymore, I'm not only in the A...but I'm competing for the podium.

And this is with a bone stock buggy. Sure, I may be a little anal with the maintenance (I re-do the shocks weekly, and am now ready to rebuild the diff after 5 race days), but I'm now starting to field questions from drivers who've been brand loyal for years.

I TQ'd Tuesday night, and was getting text messages about the buggy Wednesday morning!

I'll be placing an order for some maintenance parts, and might upgrade to aluminum steering...even though I don't really NEED to.

I ran a heck of a race in my second qualifier, for me anyway:

The A main went ok, I had some great moments, and some bonehead moments, and finished 3rd. The main was a nice battle with a better driver, and I was just happy to compete with these guys.

Is there really a bad night of racing?

I might have convinced (well, the car spoke for itself) a club racer friend of mine to buy one of these.

Now he’s gonna beat me with it, hehehe, he’s a really good driver!

Nice ride! I'm still running the 2019 V3R EVO I'll be installing the quick access diff kit on mine's once I get new bearings to put on at the same time. I run on high grip indoor clay tracks in Virginia and Maryland the EVO has been great at these tracks.
